I finally did it. I’d been dreaming about it for a while, but on Amazon Prime Day I bought myself and Instapot (affiliate link) with an air fryer lid. Now I am all jazzed up about testing new recipes. If I’m being honest, the Instapot still intimidates me a little. I am a Cuisinart food processor girl, and I can work that machine like nobody’s business. However, when I bust out my Instapot I feel like I have no clue what I am doing. It’s actually nice to be a novice in the kitchen again. I’m learning a lot, experimenting more and taking risks. I would say so far about half of the recipes I’ve made I would make again. I knew these Air Fryer Jalapeño Poppers were blog worthy when my mom, after tasting them a few weeks earlier, dropped off a whole bag of jalapeños at my doorstep. No note. No text message. Just came home to a bag of jalapeños sitting in the rain. As soon as I saw them, I totally understood. She was coming to dinner that night and wanted me to make jalapeño poppers again. You better believe I made them! Anything for my mom!!!

This recipe is so incredibly easy and delicious you just may never order jalapeño poppers out again. If you are looking for some other quick appetizers, I love this Creamy Avocado Dip as well as this Baba Ganoush. If you happen to have extra jalapeños you can make some Mama’s Salsa or Vegetarian Chili. And if you dig Mexican flavors as much as I do, give these Black Beans a try. As always, let me know how your Air Fryer Jalapeño Poppers come out by leaving a comment below. Enjoy! Buen provecho!
Easy Air Fryer Jalapeño Poppers
Equipment
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 6 medium jalapeños halved lengthwise
- 3 oz cream cheese softened (see note)
- ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- cooking spray of choice
- ¼ cup Panko breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Use a spoon to carefully remove seeds from the jalapeño halves. I like to do this under cold running water. Wash your hands immediately after. Don’t touch your eyes!
- In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar and spices together. Use spoon or hands to stuff each jalapeño half. Spray the top of the cheese mixture of each stuff half with cooking spray. Spread breadcrumbs on a plate. Dip each half in the breadcrumbs.
- Place the peppers in the air fryer basket in an even layer. Cook at 375 degrees for 7-8 minutes. You don’t want to overcook, or the peppers will get too soft.
